Only Took 25 Years to Get Me to Mexico

Despite my Mother being from Mexico, I had never visited. My family is from an extremely rural area and they visit California occasionally.

Who better to experience Mexico with than my some of my closest girl friends. First, we stopped in Puerto Vallarta to relax by the ocean. I’m not a water person, but I was easily convinced to go on this leg of the trip because afterwards we stayed in Mexico City for 4 days. I’d been longing to visit Mexico City for years and this did not disappoint. Oddly, Mexico City didn’t feel foreign. Maybe it’s because I live in LA with a large Latinx population or maybe it’s because it felt like being surrounded by familial aspects. This visit didn’t satiate my hunger, but instead fueled my desire to return soon.

If you would like to visit Mexico City, look at our itinerary for inspiration: Mexico City Itinerary. I also vlogged Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, and our hot air balloon ride. All videos can be found on my YouTube channel. Let me know if any of this is helpful! And feel free to reach out— I would love to know about your trip.

Despite being a city of 9 million people, Mexico City’s tree lined streets bring a sense of peace to all of the hustle and bustle.

Taking a break from shopping in Roma Norte.

Exploring the maze of vendors at el Mercado de Artesanías de Ciudadela.

The AirBnb had a rooftop, perfect for sunsets.

Mexico City will see us back very soon.
